Welcome to my curated collection from when I visited Kyoto & Osaka in July 2023. There are also pictures of the Kusatsu Hot Springs in Gunma, which is my family and I’s favorite hot spring spot. This is from our second time going.
Laos
Laos, a land of lush landscapes and rich traditions, offers a culinary journey like no other. Larb is one of the most flavorful dishes I tried in Laos. It’s a minced meat salad mixed with lime juice, herbs, toasted rice powder, and chili, creating a balance of freshness, spice, and crunch. Each version tasted slightly different depending on who prepared it, but it was always bold and vibrant. Paired with sticky rice, it quickly became one of my favorite dishes for how lively and satisfying it tastes.
My personal facorite is Khao Piak Sen, a thick rice noodle soup that quickly became one of my comfort foods in Laos. The chewy noodles and mild, savory broth make it simple yet incredibly comforting, especially when eaten fresh and warm. I’ve built up my spice tolerance just by adding a little bit more spice paste each time I ate it during break in school, or at the end of the day after a date with my friends.

Madrid: A City of Elegance
In Madrid, I wandered through the grand boulevards and marveled at the majestic Royal Palace. The city’s rich history is palpable, and the tapas bars are a culinary delight. In my first weeks there, I savored traditional dishes like patatas bravas and churros con chocolate, each bite a testament to the city’s gastronomic prowess.
Barcelona: A Creative Hub
Barcelona is a city that thrives on creativity and innovation. The architectural wonders of Antoni Gaudí, such as the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, left me in awe. The vibrant street life and the fresh seafood paella I enjoyed at the beachside restaurants were unforgettable.
Malaga: Coastal Charm
Malaga, with its beautiful beaches and rich cultural heritage, is a coastal paradise. I explored the Picasso Museum and strolled along the historic Alcazaba. The local cuisine, especially the espetos de sardinas (grilled sardines), was a highlight of my visit, offering a true taste of the Mediterranean.

My cousins and I would always play the game where you pinch or punch each other if you see a car of a certain color, or if it is a vocho (referring to the Volkswagen Beatles). Enjoy my collection of vochos I spotted while I was in Mexico in the summer of 2022.
